Winter’s over in Sedona

Here it is, Tuesday morning Dec 7.09 and winter’s finally gone. Look uptop in the picture and you’ll see snow at 6000 feet and not a flake down here. When it’s snow and ice in Flagstaff, at 7000 feet, and crap all the way up to Durango and Teluride it’s almost balmy here at EagleRider of Sedona.

Remember, Harley Davidson rental deals for $75 Mon-Thurs, 9AM-5PM and only $99 on weekends, same times. Ask about an electric vest, and we’ll load it on the bike for you for a lot of extra comfort for the money. Jerome, Page Springs, Oak Creek Canyon and, Sedona itself, make for a great motorcycle day ride.

Hi To All of You Wonderful People

We arrived home safely last night. Pretty tired today and trying to get back into the swing of things. I hate vacations coming to the end,but what a FABULOUS time we had. Sedona is just beautiful. Meeting all of you was such a pleasure. You truly directed us to a lot of beautiful places. We have both agreed that renting the Harley was the highlight of our vacation. You are all so wonderful and helpful. It really was a joy to meet you. We wish you the best of luck in your journey. Let’s keep in touch. Oh Yeah!!!! The kids LOVED the cowgirl boots. Ever been to Jerome, Arizona?

World – meet Griz, Ed, Tim, Don and a bunch of others who make Jerome, Jerome. This old ghost town is about a half-hour motorcyce run from Sedona, either down 89A or through Cornville and Beaverhead Flat, which is the preferred bike route. Weekends at the Spirit Room and Paul & Jerry’s are a favorite. So is the Haunted Hamburger or Grapes and the Asylum for places to eat, among a ton of others.

Yup, this is Eagle Rider of Sedona … where you ride, or rode, the Southwest on a Harley like these parts are supposed to be ridden.

If you’ve ridden the Southwest from here in Sedona, please tell us about it. And show us too. Your best rides, your favorite roads, places you found to eat, drink, sleep and take pictures.

What a day !!!

Yesterday was a beautiful day for a ride here in Sedona. We rode to Pine, and had a lovely brunch at a little place called Randall House. The food was great, and we sat outside to catch a little vitamin D. Why not, the temperature was 80 degrees! This week promises more of the same, so come by, rent a bike, and work on your tan.

Today (Wednesday, October 28.09), the temp is freakin’ 48F. In Sedona! What’s with that? So, all of Oregon, Washington, Wyoming and everybody else north and west of here, take your early winter and send it packing. Please. Nobody here has ever even heard of snowtires, salting roads or plows. One guy has a set of chains on a Bronco, but that’s it. Thank God it’s going back up to 75F and sunny by Friday.

Top 10 reasons to Rent a Harley in Sedona

1. You have a bike license but no bike. Renting one beats stealing.

2. Jerome on the weekend. Nobody knows, or cares, if you rent it or own it.

3. $400 a month for 4 years or $99 for a day. You pick.

4. You’re wearing leather and/or lace. Way overdressed for Hertz.

5. Up SR260 and SR87 to Winslow. You can see Canada when you blast out of the pines and into the desert.

6. White Spar or Mingus Mountain if you want to knee-drag a bagger.

7.You drive a Gixer or Ninja and want to see what being your dad feels like.

8. It’s Sedona. Blame it on a vortex .

9. Your (husband/wife) has been riding you long enough. Now it’s your turn.

10. Oak Creek Canyon in a car is scenic . On a bike, it makes some people puke.
