On Monday, we rented a Harley through EAGLE RIDER OF SEDONA.

The folks at the shop were absolutely fantastic. They were so friendly and helpful and theyalso have a beautiful dog that roams around the store who is an awesome little greeter.

My husband and I are fairly new to the world of motorcycle riding so they went out of their way to make us feel comfortable, as well as to map out a route that best fit our interests, the weather and my husband’s skill level with the motorcycle. We drove out to the quirky little town of JEROME which is an old mining town that is now part ghost-town, part artists’ community. Jerome is packed with a whole bunch of interesting and unusual shops and restaurants. We easily could have spent a whole day there wandering the shops, but we had to get back on the bike. We ate lunch at the ASYLUM restaurant at the JEROME GRAND HOTEL, which is reportedly haunted.

On the way back, we drove out and back along Hwy 260, east of I-17 south of Sedona, which is a beautiful, winding road heading up into the mountains.

The ride, as well as our interactions with the staff at EagleRider, was a great experience we will never forget.”

This is either the best driver ever, or he has his camera cranked to 6X speed, like he says he has. The road from Prescott to Jerome is  189 turns in 12 miles (Tail of the Dragon – Hah!) , leads back to (EagleRider of) Sedona and takes about an hour and a half.  Unless [...]]]>

This is either the best driver ever, or he has his camera cranked to 6X speed, like he says he has. The road from Prescott to Jerome is  189 turns in 12 miles (Tail of the Dragon – Hah!) , leads back to (EagleRider of) Sedona and takes about an hour and a half.  Unless you’re this guy.  For him – it takes 6 minutes.

There are two roads running west out of Prescott. This is one of them, SR 89, aka White Spars. It’s about an hour to Prescott from EagleRider of  Sedona,  riding through Jerome over Mingus Mountain – which is also quite the ride.  Look for that video somewhere else in here.

5. Up SR260 and SR87 to Winslow. You can see Canada when you blast out of the pines and into the desert.

6. White Spar or Mingus Mountain if you want to knee-drag a bagger.

7.You drive a Gixer or Ninja and want to see what being your dad feels like.

8. It’s Sedona. Blame it on a vortex .

9. Your (husband/wife) has been riding you long enough. Now it’s your turn.

10. Oak Creek Canyon in a car is scenic .  On a bike, it makes some people puke.
